TREDYFFRIN TOWNSHIP – Rajant Corp., the pioneer of Kinetic Mesh wireless networks, and the US Army Combat Capabilities Development Command have entered into a three-year Cooperative Research and Development Agreement for emerging technologies and capabilities.

The agreement, announced Thursday, establishes a collaborative framework for evaluating, assessing vulnerability and performance, and modeling and simulating Rajant solutions in relevant US Army applications.

Under the terms of the agreement, Rajant will work with the Army on its advanced mesh communications, encryption, distributed computing, artificial intelligence, and machine learning capabilities for evaluation against current and future electronic warfare and cyber threats, the company said.

“This agreement continues our previous agreement with US Army DEVCOM and is a win-win for both organizations. Rajant can gain detailed information on threats the Army faces today with complete freedom of innovation to counter those threats,” Ed Preston, Rajant president of military and government markets, said in a statement. “The Army rapidly gains access to cutting-edge technology and can evaluate it in a real-world environment.”

Rajant Kinetic Mesh networks were first built for military and defense applications, according to the company, and are specifically designed for the “rugged terrains and harsh physical environments” seen by troops in the field. They have been “battle-proven” to support the mission-critical communications needed to overcome adversity, the release stated.

Rajant Corp., headquartered in Tredyffrin Township, is the broadband communications technology company that invented Kinetic Mesh networking, BreadCrumb wireless nodes, and InstaMesh networking software. Rajant’s Kinetic Mesh networks provide industrial customers with full mobility, allowing them to take their private network applications and data anywhere. The company’s products are used in more than 80 countries by customers in military, mining, ports, rail, energy, manufacturing and logistics, municipalities, agriculture, and more.
