Berks churches plan pork and sauerkraut dinners [Religion digest]

• St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 4125 Penn Ave., Sinking Spring, will hold a take-out pork and sauerkraut dinner on Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Dinners are $12 each and include slow-roasted pork, mashed potatoes, rolls and dessert. Call Deb Scheidt for tickets, 610-468-5923.

• United Church of Robesonia worships at 10:15 a.m. on Sundays at 301 W. Penn Ave. in person, by YouTube, Facebook and telephone. Sunday school is on vacation on Sunday. The annual pork and sauerkraut dinner will be offered at the church on New Year's Day from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. There is a charge for this meal. Our Alive-in-Christ Walking Group will walk next Saturday, weather permitting, at the Wernersville State Hospital Walking Trails, meeting at 8:30 a.m. Use 484-332-4345 for exact information.

• The Rev. Barry Spatz will lead the last Sunday of December worship at 9:30 a.m. at Salem Lutheran at 8410 Lancaster Ave., Bethel Township. A social hour will follow in the large all-purpose room.

• Christ Lutheran Church, 222 Niantic Road, Douglass Township, Montgomery County, will hold Coffee and Conversation at 8:30 and 10 a.m. on Sunday in the Welcome Center.

In order to have an event listed in the religion digest, it must be something that is not just a regular worship service.
