TOMPKINS FINANCIAL ADVISORS

Tompkins Financial Advisors  has promoted William “Will” Lyons to financial planner, serving clients in Wyomissing and Blue Bell; as well as Western, Central, and the Hudson Valley New York; and Delray Beach, Fla. Lyons supports the firm’s financial planning efforts across client-facing services and expertise in this new role. His promotion reflects his dedication to delivering expert, personalized, strategic financial solutions to clients and their growth.

He brings more than two years of experience in the banking and financial industry, focused on empowering clients with customized financial strategies, including cash-flow management, retirement planning, scenario-based decision-making and estate tax strategies. His approach prioritizes building long-term financial security and confidence for individuals and families.

Lyons holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from St. Lawrence University, is a Financial Paraplanner Qualified Professional and has embarked on a Certified Financial Planner  program. Based in Pittsford, N.Y., Lyons serves clients throughout the region with the utmost dedication and professionalism.

SAXTON AND STUMP

Saxton & Stump CEO James W. Saxton has received a special Pennsylvania Senate Citation for recently receiving the Shippensburg University Alumni Award of Distinction and for his contributions to the well-being of the community and the state. Pennsylvania state Sen. Ryan Aument (R-Dist. 36) presented Saxton with the citation at the firm’s Manheim Township headquarters in a special ceremony on Dec. 11. The citation was also sponsored by state Sen. Greg Rothman (R-Dist. 34), whose district includes Shippensburg University. The citation recognizes Saxton as “a shining example of community spirit whose many contributions are worthy of deep gratitude and respect.”

Saxton has been the CEO of Saxton & Stump since he and others founded the law firm in 2015. Under his direction, the firm has grown to more than 110 attorneys, making it one of the largest firms based in central Pennsylvania. The firm has more than 200 professionals serving more than 40 different industries and business areas. It has also created seven different strategic affiliate companies that complement its legal services and help clients mitigate risk.

In May, Saxton was the undergraduate commencement speaker at Shippensburg University, and in October, his alma mater bestowed him with its Alumni Award of Distinction, which honors the recipients who exemplify excellence within their professional fields, communities and the university. Saxton graduated from Shippensburg in 1979 before graduating from the Duquesne School of Law in 1982.

In the community, Saxton has been a founding board member of the Lancaster Community Health Plan, chairman of the Lancaster YMCA Foundation, president of the Lancaster YMCA Board of Directors, and a past board member of the American Heart Association. In 2014, Saxton and his wife Sally received the “Excellence in Philanthropy Award,” presented by the Lancaster General Health Foundation’s Board of Trustees. In 2013, again with Sally, the Central Pennsylvania Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals presented the couple with its “Philanthropist of the Year” award.

BARLEY SNYDER

Barley Snyder partner Justin A. Tomevi has been named president-elect of the York County Bar Association. Tomevi has served on the board of the York County Bar Association and/or its subsidiary boards for nearly a decade.

Tomevi is a partner in Barley Snyder's Litigation Practice Group with more than a decade of experience in helping businesses, institutions and individuals manage litigation risk, resolve disputes and achieve their goals. He regularly represents clients in state and federal courts across Pennsylvania, Maryland, and the District of Columbia.

Recognized for his legal and community service, Tomevi has earned honors from the Million and Multi-Million Dollar Advocates, Super Lawyers, Thomson Reuters and Central Penn Business Journal. In addition to his role with York County Bar Association, Tomevi serves as general counsel for the YMCA of the Roses and as secretary of its corporate board of directors. He also teaches as an adjunct professor at Messiah University and serves on Eastern University's College of Business and Leadership Advisory Board.

The York County Bar Association is a professional organization dedicated to promoting the highest standards of legal practice and service in York County. With a membership of local attorneys, judges and legal professionals, the association provides resources for professional development, fosters a strong legal community, and works to improve access to justice for all residents.
