Swimming at the Dry Brooks Day Use Area of Blue Marsh Lake is restricted due to
high bacteria levels, according to the Army Corps of Engineers, which operates the site.
According to a Monday morning announcement by site managers, water testing results from over the weekend indicated high levels of e-coli bacteria. The swim beach will remain closed until bacteria levels return to a safe level.
This restriction applies to the designated swim area. Picnicking, boating and other activities are still permitted. Visitors who enter the water for activities in other areas of the lake are reminded that the water is not tested, and that swimming at Blue Marsh is at one’s own risk.
