PHILADELPHIA — Eric Dixon scored 25 points Saturday in Villanova’s 100-56 win against DePaul at the Pavilion..
Dixon added five rebounds for the Wildcats (10-5, 3-1 Big East). Jordan Longino scored a career-high 19 points, shooting 7-for-9 from the field. Wooga Poplar shot 6 of 9 from the field to finish with 17 points.
The Blue Demons (9-6, 0-4) were led by Jacob Meyer, who posted 13 points and two steals. Isaiah Rivera added 11 points for DePaul.
Villanova started the game on a 13-0 run and never looked back. It led by 16 points at halftime, thanks to 14 from Dixon, who scored 25 or more points for the seventh straight game. Poplar punctuated the first half with a thunderous dunk.
Villanova shot 59.7 percent from the field and 59.3 from 3-point range (16-for-27). Longino was 5-for-5 from behind the arc to lead the way, his second straight game in double figures.
Jhamir Brickus orchestrated the offense with 11 points and 11 assists. Kris Parker added 11 points off the bench, and Enoch Boakye paired six points with 14 rebounds and three blocks.
Drexel 68, North Carolina A&T 59 >> Yame Butler scored 24 points and grabbed five rebounds for the Dragons (9-6, 1-1 CAA).
Kobe Magee scored nine points and added eight rebounds. Shane Blakeney tallied nine points.
Ryan Forrest led the way for the Aggies (4-12, 0-3) with 13 points and three steals. Landon Glasper added 13 points for NC A&T, and Nikolaos Chitikoudis had 12 points and 12 rebounds.
Drexel entered halftime up 34-33. Butler paced the team in scoring in the first half with 13 points. Magee’s free throw with 19:21 left in the second half gave Drexel the lead for good at 36-35.
