The 2025 portion of the 2024-25 high school boys basketball season is here and the top teams in the state are looking to hit their stride for the season's second half.
When you look around the eastern half of the state, it's not a surprise that many of the best teams are from Districts 12 and 1. In Class 6A, for example, five of the top six ranked teams are from one of those districts. The one that is not is defending state champion Central York from District 3.
Local basketball guru Toomey Anderson has teamed with scholastic basketball expert and historian Dave Burman and Dave Magnotta of NEPA Hoops to provide eastern basketball rankings which rates the teams from districts 1, 2, 3, 4, 11 and 12.
Berks Catholic is the only team from Berks County to garner attention in the eatern rankings.
The Saints are 7-2 and ranked second in Class 4A.
In the District 3 power rankings, the Saints are ranked first with Eastern York (8-1) ranked second. Wyomissing (6-2) is ranked fourth in Class 4A in District 3 and Schuylkill Valley (7-3) is ranked seventh.
In Class 6A in District, Wilson (6-2) is ranked third, and in Class 3A, Antietam (6-4) is ranked fourth.
