The YMCA of Reading and Berks County celebrated its annual Breakfast of Champions for Youth on Tuesday by recognizing five members of the community and two companies for their dedication to the mission of the organization.
The event is held each year to honor a handful of valued community leaders and an outstanding youth leader. Officials said these individuals and organizations work behind the scenes to supply their time and talent to assist the YMCA and its community partners in the work they do.
The following are this year's honorees:
• Craig Poole was awarded the Richard Palmer Sr. Wealth & Wisdom Award.
• John Muir was the recipient of the James Sternbergh Faith & Guidance Award.
• Richard Auman and the Dorothy Hass Charitable Trust were given the Jere Edwards Spirit of Youth Award.
• State Rep. Mark Rozzi was awarded the Robert and Rosemarie Miller Community Impact Award.
• Customers Bank and East Penn Manufacturing were the recipients of the Red Triangle Award.
• Christopher Francisco-Martinez was given the Eugene Shirk Youth Leadership Award.
